David de Gea Expects New Contract At Manchester United

David de Gea expects discussions over a new contract at Manchester United to "end in a good way".
De Gea, who joined United in 2011, outlined his intention to spend the rest of his career at Old Trafford in the summer and he is optimistic of extending his stay beyond 12 years.
"Yeah, I'm very relaxed," De Gea told the MEN. "Just focus on training, perform as best as I can. But, for sure, it's going to end in a good way."
When asked if he was confident of seeing out his career at United, De Gea replied: "I hope so. I was saying this is my club, I've been here many, many years and it's a huge honour to be here and I'm so happy here."
De Gea is United's highest earner on £375,000 a week but his salary was reduced by 25% to £281,250 this season as United failed to qualify for the Champions League.
De Gea kept his 177th clean sheet for United in the 3-0 defeat of Bournemouth and is now three shy of equalling Peter Schmiechel's club record. The Spaniard also moved into the top 10 appearance-makers in United's history in what was his 510th appearance. Remaining at United for a 13th season would almost certainly see De Gea overtake Alex Stepney's goalkeeper appearance record of 539.
