Juventus Appoints Luciano Spalletti as New Manager in Midseason Overhaul

October 31, 2025 – Juventus has officially appointed Luciano Spalletti as its new head coach, marking a significant midseason pivot for the struggling Serie A giants. The 66-year-old Italian signed a contract through June 2026, with an option to extend to 2027 contingent on the team qualifying for the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League. The announcement follows the dismissal of Igor Tudor earlier this week after a disappointing run that left Juventus in seventh place with 12 points from 10 matches.
Spalletti, who led Napoli to the 2023 Serie A title and guided Italy to the Euro 2024 semifinals, steps into the role with immediate effect. He visited Juventus’ training ground, La Continassa, on Thursday to finalize the deal and will oversee his first training session today. His debut match is scheduled for November 2 against Cremonese, with a challenging Champions League fixture against Sporting looming next week.
The appointment comes as Juventus seeks to reverse a four-game winless streak, including a recent 3-1 victory over Udinese under interim coach Massimo Brambilla. Club director Cristiano Giuntoli and former captain Giorgio Chiellini backed the move, citing Spalletti’s tactical expertise to address the team’s psychological and performance issues. An official statement is expected later today.
