Arsenal Top UEFA Champions League League Phase Standings After Matchday 6

Arsenal have emerged as the early pacesetters in the revamped UEFA Champions League, sitting alone at the summit of the 36-team league phase table with a maximum 18 points from six matches.

Mikel Arteta’s side have been flawless so far, recording six consecutive victories with an impressive goal difference of +16 (17 goals scored, just one conceded). The only goal Arsenal have let in came during their 1-1 draw away to Atalanta before the international break; since then, they have posted five straight wins, including a 3-0 home victory over Monaco and a 5-1 thrashing of PSV Eindhoven.

Bayern Munich occupy second place on 15 points, while Paris Saint-Germain are third with 13 points. Defending champions Real Madrid and last season’s runners-up Inter Milan are both locked on 12 points, joined by Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid, and Lille. Liverpool, also on 12 points, currently sit ninth due to an inferior goal difference, meaning the 2022 and 2019 winners are on course to face a play-off round in February unless results improve over the final two matchdays.

Under the new Swiss-model format, the top eight teams at the end of the 10-match league phase advance directly to the round of 16, while sides finishing ninth to 24th enter a two-legged play-off. The bottom 12 are eliminated.

Arsenal’s remaining fixtures are away to Dinamo Zagreb and at home to Girona, matches that appear favourable on paper. Bayern face Shakhtar Donetsk and Slovan Bratislava, while Paris travel to Salzburg and host Stuttgart.

With four matchdays remaining, the race for the coveted top-eight spots remains wide open, but Arsenal’s perfect record has established them as the team to beat heading into the decisive winter period. The final league phase matches are scheduled to conclude on 29 January 2026.
