Europe's Elite Scout 16-Year-Old Hertha Berlin Midfielder with €20 Million Price Tag
November 5 – In a column for *Bild*, Leipzig-based reporter Robert Schreier sheds light on the rising talent at Hertha Berlin.

Kenneth Eichenhorn (16) has only two posts on his Instagram page—both commemorating his professional debut, which made him the youngest player ever to feature in the 2. Bundesliga.

Such social media restraint is rare for a teenager, let alone a budding football star. Yet it also reflects the Berlin-born midfielder’s desire to avoid artificial hype—something he hardly needs, given the intense interest he’s already attracting from top clubs across Europe.

Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Bayer Leverkusen are all considering a move for Eichenhorn, even if they don’t urgently need a midfielder at the moment.

For many scouts and experts, however, the lure of signing the player dubbed the “new Toni Kroos” (35) is simply too great—an investment clearly aimed at the future.

Hertha Berlin’s management is well aware of his value. They renewed Eichenhorn’s contract this summer, though the terms are complex due to his upcoming 18th birthday during the deal. In any case, the €6 million valuation recently listed on Transfermarkt.de for the Brandenburg-native is considered far too low.

Internally, Hertha are setting a minimum price of €20 million.

It’s no surprise, then, that financially powerful overseas clubs have also entered the race. Scouts from Manchester United, Liverpool, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain have already been spotted in the stands at Berlin’s Olympiastadion. Meanwhile, the scouting departments of Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Arsenal have also flagged Eichenhorn as a talent worth closely monitoring.
